In a note (right) pinned to their boarded-up door, Kate Barrett, 36, and Dan Owens, 34, (top left) also thanked the thieves for leaving their fingerprints. Their Northampton home was broken into (bottom left) on Sunday evening while they were out. The thieves, who climbed over their garden wall and smashed through their patio door, got away with some cash, a camera, an iPod and two gold watches.
